IT ALL STARTED WHEN ROXI WENT LOOKING FOR A GREETING CARD IN THE RAIN.
My journey to this point started in 1999. With two little kids at home I decided to create a birthday card for a family member instead of going to the grocery store with the kids. With a college background in Art I figured it would be an easy task. The card turned out beautiful and after all the compliments I started creating note cards and custom made invitations. Roxi Designs was born!
Somewhere along the way creating note cards evolved into creating jewelry. My cards and first bracelet designs were sold in 3 shops across the country. I took a break for many years until 'the kids' were teens. Until one day, in 2010, when I decided I was going to start creating earrings!
After purchasing beading supplies, I sat down every Sunday Night and starting creating my 'Sunday Night Earrings' and posting them online. After they all sold I kept creating earrings and gathered my best pieces and submitted them to a couple magazines. To my surprise both magazines accepted my submissions! I'm so glad I never gave up and took a chance on a dream! -Roxi

Can I find your jewelry in shops?
Yes! I have pieces created just for Mane & Fig in Fig Garden Village, Fresno CA.
Do you have a background in art?
Yes, I have an Associate of Arts degree.
What art classes did you take in college?
I took freehand drawing in pencil, pen & ink, pastels and charcoal.
What other mediums can you draw or paint in?
I am self taught in watercolors and acrylics.
Did you take any jewelry classes or card making classes?
No, I am self taught in both jewelry making and card making.
What was your first published design?
My first published design was on a tee shirt for a local school district while I was still in college.
What was your first published jewelry design?
My first published jewelry design were earrings. Different pairs of earrings were in Jewelry Stringing and Bead Trends magazines in the winter of 2011.
Did you get published the first time you submitted to a magazine?
No I didn't. It took 7 years to get my courage back up to try submitting to the same magazine...so glad I did!
